Exploring Burma: Ancient Kingdoms & Cultures

February 22 - March 12, 2014 (19 Days)

Double occupancy: $7,790 per person
Single occupancy: $2,340

Remote villages, archaeology, seldom-visited tribal peoples, pagodas, shrines, and traditional markets. This trip journeys beyond 'the highlights' into new territories and now is an ideal time to visit. While there is no denying that Burma (Myanmar) is poised for momentous change and is seeing more visitors than ever, there are exquisite temples, pagodas and archaeological sites that still remain less-known
– for now! Much of this country was remote and closed off for so long that there now remain pockets of splendid seclusion, unprecedented in Southeast Asia. This unusual trip presents the opportunity for us to venture into areas that have just opened to foreigners – villages, an archaeological site accessible only by boat – none of these were possible just a few years ago. Here, the Asia of old endures practically untouched by modern influences.
