I ♥ Science (2015)

Embrace your love of science! Explore fossils of long-extinct animals. Try your hand at sketching a mammal, excavating a mock dinosaur dig, or discovering life in a rotting log. Meet a live scorpion and tarantula. Bring a rock, mineral, or shell to be identified by members of the Boston Mineral Club or the Boston Malacological Club. Talk with scientists and graduate students studying topics ranging from tiny insects to dinosaurs.

Special research talks given by Harvard graduate students:

  • 10:30 am - The Wacky and Wonderful Life Cycles of Frogs (Mara Laslo)
  • 11:30 am - Glistening Greens to Vibrant Violets: A Bird’s Eye View of Feather Coloration (Allison Shultz)
  • 12:30 pm - Evolving Seabiscuit: Horses in Paleontology and Performance (Brianna McHorse)
  • 1:30 pm - What Plants Do When You Aren’t Paying Attention (Jessica Savage)
  • 2:30 pm - Studying Microbes in the Deep, Dark Sea (Heather Olins)

This event is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Regular museum admission rates apply.

Free parking is available at the 52 Oxford Street Garage.
