The Harvard Museum of Natural History is the University's most-visited museum and a "must-see" for any visit to Harvard Square or the University.

Group Visit Admission Rates

Pre-reserved group admission is $3.00 off regular price admissions for groups of 10 or more. Group tour participants are expected to meet the same COVID-19 safety precautions as general visitors. Please see our visitation policies for details.

Self-guided Visits

With signage, videos, and interactive displays throughout the galleries, visitors do not need a tour guide to enjoy the museum and the 12,000 specimens on display.

Registration

Please register your group at least two weeks in advance. We are unable to offer the group visit discount to groups that do not pre-register.

Drop-off and Parking

There is easy drop-off at the museum (on Oxford Street, see map ) for buses, with off-site parking available on campus. Please include parking needs on the reservation form.

Glass Flower Group Tours

Groups can reserve private docent-led tours that delve into the history, artistry, and significance of the Blaschka collections. These interactive tours give participants the opportunity to explore the galleries and they offer time for Q&A with knowledgeable guides. HMSC offers both onsite and virtual options, with advance registration required.
 

Tours are not required to visit the Glass Flower Gallery. General admission includes access to the Glass Flowers Gallery.

 

Onsite

Onsite docent-led group tours of the Glass Flowers are approximately one hour long and can be scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2:00 and 3:00 pm with some flexibility for special requests.

 

Tours start at $200 for groups of 10 or fewer, and there is a $20 fee per additional person. Fees include access to all HMSC museums and galleries on the day of the tour. A maximum of 15 people are permitted per tour to allow for an interactive experience, but larger groups can be divided into multiple sections. HMSC Members at Contributing or Benefactor levels receive a 20% discount on private group tours.

 

Virtual

Virtual docent-led group tours of the Glass Flowers are approximately one hour long and can be scheduled on weekday afternoons between 12:00 – 4:00 pm EST, with evening hours available by request.
 

Virtual tours are offered through Zoom, and groups will need to download the free Zoom app in advance.
 

Tours start at $150 for groups of 15 or fewer with a $10 fee per additional person. Fees do not include onsite access to HMSC museums. A maximum of 30 people are permitted per tour to allow for an interactive experience, but larger groups can be divided into multiple sections. HMSC Members at Contributing or Benefactor levels receive a 20% discount on private group tours.


Registration

Please register your group at least two weeks in advance. A nonrefundable $50 deposit is required at the time of reservation, with the remaining fee due one week in advance of the program. Tour fees are nonrefundable.

Prepaid Museum Passes for Educational Institutions

College, high schools, and other institutions can purchase blocks of individual tickets at the discounted group rate. Faculty, students, and staff will have the opportunity to visit at any convenient time—with or without their peers—and still benefit from the $3.00 discount.

The minimum purchase is 10 passes.
